I originally fell in love with the media in the newsroom of the Wolverhampton Express & Star, where I was a graduate trainee. After a fantastic grounding as a fledgling reporter on a busy West Midlands evening paper I moved to Fleet Street where I worked on the Daily Mail, the Daily Express and the London Evening Standard. These years took me to murder trials in Kenya and France, floods in Spain and the Eurotunnel fire not to mention plenty of time at the Old Bailey, a stint in Parliament, the odd celebrity interview and the funeral of Princess Diana in Westminster Abbey.

I went on to be appointed assistant news editor first at the Evening Standard, then at the Daily Express, before moving on to Marie Claire magazine as features editor. I later worked as editor on Daily Mail Self (now replaced by Inspire) then as acting deputy editor of Daily Mail Good Health.

Today, I mainly write and edit for the Daily Mail where I am a contributing editor to the Good Health section as well as editing online health copy for the subscription service, Mail+.  I also regularly undertake special projects for the Daily Mail involving planning, commissioning and writing major health and lifestyle series - these have included collaborations with Alzheimer's Society, Michael Mosley and Weight Watchers.  I also plan and write book extracts.

I now live in Oxfordshire with my husband, two children and a boisterous young labrador.
